Annual Governance Statement – Assertion 1 Explanation (2025–26)

The Parish Council approved its Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR) for 2025–26 after the statutory deadline of 30 June.
This delay was unavoidable. The Parish Clerk sadly passed away unexpectedly shortly in June, and an Interim Clerk was appointed at the end of the month. The Internal Audit report was received on the day of the council meeting, and the AGAR was approved at the earliest possible opportunity.
In line with the Accounts and Audit Regulations, Assertion 1 in the Annual Governance Statement has been marked “No”, and this notice provides the required explanation for the missed deadline.
The Council remains committed to strong governance and timely compliance and will ensure that future AGAR deadlines are met.
